Whereas the homeowner had hired a professional and was unaware of obligations (one being required locates), nonetheless the emergency responses elicited fines being conveyed in excess of $7000; Whereas one of the fees obtained was from the Town of Caledon, on behalf of Caledon Fire & Emergency Services for $2887.95; Whereas over $4000 in fines have already been paid by the homeowner and contractor, and the homeowner acknowledges and accepts responsibility on behalf of both their contractor and themselves, for the emergency responses required, however, the homeowner is asking for leniency and a reduction or forgiveness of the remaining $2887.95; Whereas the fees set out and administered by the Town of Caledon are done so with the authority of Council.
